English Cultural Inclusion Study Tour to Singapore (Day 2)

Day 2: Connections and Icons

We started our first morning in Singapore with an amazing experience at an elderly centre. Miss Rainy and Mr. Robertson introduced our school to everyone, and then some of us gave presentations about our life back in Hong Kong. A few students even performed a rendition of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me!” Afterwards, we sat down with the residents to chat about our different lives while enjoying some tasty pandan cake.

For lunch, we treated ourselves to some incredible chicken rice before heading out to explore Singapore’s famous sights. The two biggest highlights were definitely the Merlion fountain statue—the national symbol of Singapore—where we took some great photos, and the massive super trees at Gardens by the Bay, which is easily one of the most famous parks in Asia. It was a long, hot afternoon of walking, but we managed to cheer everyone up with a well-deserved ice cream stop at Cavenagh Bridge.
